  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Aaronson has struggled to find himself while on loan in the Bundesliga, with the 23-year-old in and out of the starting XI over the first seven months in Berlin. However, February saw a turn of form hit him, with his first goal in over a year at the club level coming against Hoffenheim in a rare start for him. He earned another start the following week, but then two benchings followed, before a return to the XI on Saturday that saw him earn with his magical display.

Despite missing out on the USMNT's 23-man CONCACAF Nations League roster, he responded to Gregg Berhalter's comments of using the snub as motivation in brilliant fashion.
